CORDEI

This unique chamber duo, formed in 2012, is quickly becoming one of Vancouver’s premier contemporary ensembles.  Already Albertina and Janna were presented with Jessie Awards for Significant Artistic Achievement following their work together on the multi-award winning Patrick Street Productions of The Light In The Piazza. CORDEI is committed to promoting contemporary music, especially the works of Canadian composers.  In September 2012 the duo premiered Park Bench Play by Kathleen Allan, a chamber opera written for CORDEI,  soprano and tenor, as part of the Tom Cone Opera Project 2012. In addition to traditional recitals, other projects include work on a silent dance film with original score written for CORDEI by Iman Habibi in conjunction with the Vancouver Film School and creating the soundscapes for “Saturated Phenomenon” in conjunction with visual artist Erica Grimm.
